Pittsburgh at Boston College: 5 Big Questions — #2

How many offensive players will have carries on Friday?

Keep in mind that six Eagles had carries against UMass at Gillette last Saturday.

The correct answer most likely lies between five and seven. Please kindly note that we said “offensive players” and not “running backs,” since it is evident that the quarterback can run, and Tyler Murphy might not be the only non-quarterback to have a run. For example, do not rule out a reverse to Josh Bordner for eight yards or so.

One player who ran the football this week might not see any playing time, or more, such as Richard Wilson, could get involved in the festivities.

What we do know is that short of a major change between last weekend and this one, Boston College is going to keep this running back-by-committee thing alive. The Eagles can boast many talented rushers, including the quarterback, and there is no need to be so limited.
