Looking Over the 2014-15 Boston College Hockey Schedule

Yesterday, while Boston College football fans are enjoying the return of Eagles sports, the 2014-15 Boston College hockey schedule was unveiled.

More from Hockey

It may be hard to believe, since the fans waited all this time even for football to return, but hockey season is only about a month away. What are some of the best games on the schedule? What are some of the best outside the conference? When are the Eagles going to win at Agganis? All this and more will be answered.

The 2014-15 Boston College hockey schedule opens with an exhibition against New Brunswick, but then the fun really begins with the season opener against UMass-Lowell.

2014-15 Boston College Hockey Schedule: Non-Conference Biggies

October 24: vs. Colorado College. Many Eagles fans will recall The Game Which Shall Not Be Mentioned against this team. Destroy them.

October 31 and November 1: at Denver. Boston College spanked the Pioneers in the NCAA Tournament last year, but the Eagles are catching them for a pair on their home ice. Denver is a good program and this should be a fun couple days.

November 14: at Michigan State. Rematch of the 2007 national championship game.

November 28: vs. Minnesota. The Gophers coming to Conte Forum should be one of the most high-profile games on campus all season.

December 13: vs. Michigan. Boston College goes into the finals/Christmas break with a bang, hosting the Wolverines at Conte Forum.

2014-15 Boston College Hockey Schedule: Hockey East Dates to Circle

October 10: at UMass-Lowell. We all remember the thriller in Worcester in March. Not nearly as much will be at stake, but if the game is even half as exciting, it should be fun.

November 7: vs. Boston University. We’ll see if the Terriers got any better following a thoroughly awful first year post-Jack Parker. You know the answer we would prefer.

November 29: at Providence. The Friars made something of their 2013-14 season, and promise to give the Eagles a tough game in Rhode Island again this year.

January 16: at Boston University. Yes, this is hopefully the date of another Eagles victory at Agganis.

February 20: vs. UMass-Lowell. The Eagles are coming pretty close to book-ending the season with the River Hawks, and probably not by accident.

February 27 and 28: at Notre Dame. I can think of no place lamer to close out the regular season than the cornfields of Indiana, but circle it in case the Eagles clinch Hockey East that weekend.

2014-15 Boston College Hockey Schedule: The Beanpot

February 2: vs. Northeastern. The Huskies have been searching for that trophy for over a quarter century, and in recent years, the Eagles were the last obstacle in the way. This year, Boston College is the first obstacle.

February 9: vs. Harvard or BU. Probably BU but hey, I mean, not if they keep stinking up the joint like last season.
