Precious are the days in the summer, better known as the college sports offseason, where there is news to report. Just think, it’s nearly the middle of June and there is actually recruiting news and other articles of note regarding Boston College.

Diving right in (and forgive some of these young men for considering Rutgers; I can only imagine that it’s a phase that they’ll grow out of in time):

Boston College Football

Christopher Sharp, one of New Jersey’s top rising linebackers, high on Rutgers after Wednesday visit (NJ.com, Todderick Hunt)

Hun School linebacker Christopher Sharp just wrapped up a visit to Rutgers, but also has an offer from Boston College. This school was attended by Dave Dudeck, whose father used to be its coach.

Reportedly, Sharp took an unofficial visit to Boston College during this process but has yet to name his leaders. He is unranked by the recruiting services but does have five major-conference offers so far.

Cameron Gives the Latest (Scout.com; paywall)

William Cameron is a 2015 running back from North Carolina who committed to West Virginia in November. He still allegedly holds his offer from Boston College. Don’t count on a flip, but it does not sound like he’s unwilling to review his options.

Big 33 Football Classic: Old, new teammates bond during Big 33 week (The Sentinel, Jake Adams)

This piece is all about the Big 33 Classic, sort of an all-star game for high school football players in Pennsylvania and Maryland. On team Pennsylvania is Christian Lezzer, on his way to the Heights this year. One of his teammates is Trey Klock, a tight end who spurned an offer from the Eagles to play for Georgia Tech.

The Big 33 Classic takes place this Saturday in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
