All Boston College Eagles fans could use some good news today. They got some in terms of football recruiting.

The newest member of the 2015 class is a local: offensive guard Chris Lindstrom committed to Steve Addazio and the Eagles on Saturday, reportedly informing the team on campus and then publicly announcing his commitment to his high school team on Sunday.

That team is Shepherd Hill Regional High School in Dudley, a little bit southwest of Worcester, where Lindstrom will soon enter his senior season.

He received his offer from Boston College on December 19 and became the second member of the class this weekend. The first was Anthony Palazzolo, a three-star offensive lineman from Connecticut who joined up on December 23. Lindstrom is the first Massachusetts recruit for 2015.

There is a legacy connection in Lindstrom’s case: his uncle, Eric Lindstrom, is a former Eagle at linebacker from the mid-1980s, at the height of the Jack Bicknell era.

We welcome Lindstrom to the Heights as he becomes the second of many talented players to add to this class. That number, by the way, will probably grow at around the time of the April 5 spring football game.
