NSD 2014: Noa Merritt Signs Letter of Intent for Boston College Football
By Joe Micik
Defensive tackle Noa Merritt officially signed a national letter of intent to play for Boston College Eagles football in 2014 on Wednesday, National Signing Day.
Merritt is chronologically the 26th current recruit to verbally commit to the class, having committed to join Head Coach Steve Addazio’s program recently on January 26.
The new Eagle played on the defensive line for Pope John XXIII Regional High School in Sparta, New Jersey. He measures up at 6-foot-1 and 265 pounds. Initially, Merritt had committed to Western Michigan in the MAC, but ended his pledge on January 22. He took an official visit to Boston College two days later, and committed two days after that.
The recruiting services all gave Merritt two stars. Aside from Western Michigan and Boston College, Merritt’s other offer was Northern Illinois.
