NSD 2014: Austin Stevens Signs Letter of Intent for Boston College Football
By Joe Micik
Defensive end Austin Stevens officially signed a national letter of intent to play for Boston College Eagles football in 2014 on Wednesday, National Signing Day.
He was the 25th recruit to verbally commit to the class, having committed to join Head Coach Steve Addazio’s program on December 28, 2013.
Like the 24th commit in the class, Jonathan Hilliman, Stevens is a New Jersey native who originally committed to another school. Stevens played his high school football for Montclair High School, then choosing to pledge himself to the Kansas Jayhawks. He joined the Kansas football class months after initially receiving the Eagles offer, but changed his mind and went with Boston College just before the new year.
Stevens’ measurables are a height of 6-foot-4 and weight of 245 pounds.
ESPN was the only of the major recruiting sites to give Stevens a three-star rating. Aside from Kansas, Stevens also declined offers from Buffalo, Rutgers, and UMass, amongst others.
The Boston College community welcomes Austin to the Heights.
