Virginia Tech at Boston College: 5 Big Questions
By Joe Micik
3. Is there any chance this won’t be a low-scoring game?
Not much of one. Remember, the Hokies have exceeded 20 points only three times this season in eight games, and their only game above 30 was against an FCS school. Their offensive production reminds me a lot of what Boston College was trotting out there in the late Tranquill era, and isn’t too far from what we’re seeing now.
Boston College, on the other hand, has a reasonably high chance of being shut down by Virginia Tech’s defense. Still, Florida State should have shut the Eagles down as well, and they scored 34 points on the Seminoles (and remain to this day the only team to give FSU a competitive game).
