Virginia Tech at Boston College: 5 Big Questions
By Joe Micik
4. As if we needed to ask, why has Boston College had so much trouble with Virginia Tech over the years?
The answer is clear to those who watched this team between 2009 and 2012. Boston College fell quite a bit behind the Hokies in terms of program development and it will take them some time to recover. Last year was the closest the Eagles have come in a while to beating Virginia Tech, but still a loss.

We’ve said good things about Don Brown here, but Bud Foster has proven himself to be an extremely capable defensive coordinator. Offensively, however, what the Hokies are sporting right now isn’t elite, though they have had good talent over recent years, with NFL draft picks such as Tyrod Taylor, David Wilson, and Danny Coale.
Frank Beamer has built a consistent winner in Blacksburg; we’re trying to undo what the other Frank did here.
