Boston College Football Countdown: 14 Days to Go
By Joe Micik
Two more weeks. That’s it, people!
Who Wears 14 Now
Mack Lowrie, QB, freshman
Lowrie is a native of eastern Massachusetts who played his high school ball right down the road at Roxbury Latin. He was a record-setting quarterback in the ISL with a 35-touchdown season; he threw 75 in his career. Lowrie threw for 5,600 passing yards and also ran for 1,600 yards, creating all sorts of offense for his team. He is a probable redshirt for 2013.
Notables Who Wore 14
• Johnathan Coleman, WR, 2010-12. Most recent wearer of the number.
• Billy Flutie, WR, 2007-10. Member of the Boston College football royal family.
• David Gordon, K, 1993-94. They still hate him in South Bend.

Three Boston College receivers have 14 career touchdown receptions: Darren Flutie, Grant Adams, and Brian Brennan.
Negative Yardage
Max Holloway (2010) and Nick Gianacakos (1995) each ended their BC careers with 14 tackles for a loss.
A Lot of Games

Eagles in ’14
If you’re talking about 2014, we’ll find out next year. If you want to know about the 1914 Eagles, they went 5-4 and played just two home games, both at Fenway Park.
In Case You Didn’t Notice
The number 14 has relatively low significance in Boston College football history. Ho hum.
