Boston College Football Countdown: 33 Days to Go
By Joe Micik
Two-thirds of the countdown is done and one-third remains. 33 days until Boston College Eagles football resumes for you and for me.
Who Wears 33 Now
Tim Joy, LB, sophomore
Joy is a Chelmsford linebacker who made nine appearances last season as a true freshman. His high-water mark for the season was in the Florida State game, where he amassed five tackles, en route to 13 for the year. As a freshman, Joy was more or less a third-string guy in the rotation as he did not appear on the two-deep late in the year, and that would seem to be his role again this year save for injuries. He does not appear on the 2013 preseason depth chart. With the older and more experienced talent in front of him at linebacker, it may not be until next year before Joy sees a marked increase in playing time.
Jeffrey Jay, WR, junior
Jay is a walk-on from Connecticut who has yet to appear in any games for the Eagles. In high school, Jay was a fine football player, but his claim to fame was long jumping in track and field.
