Recruit number two for the day wasted no time in unintentionally stealing the spotlight, as he became the nineteenth dude for the 2014 Boston College football class. That player is Gabriel McClary, and his joining the team was first reported by Heights 247.
McClary is a wide receiver from Winter Park, Florida, which not only makes him the second commitment today for the Eagles, but the second one from Florida. Boston College offered him in late May.
Like Ty Schwab, the first recruit today, McClary is no experiment or roll of the dice. 247 and Rivals both rate him as a solid three-star recruit, and he had built up quite an offer list aside from Boston College: Arizona, Appalachian State, Cincinnati, Illinois, Iowa State, Marshall, North Carolina, South Florida, and Western Michigan. His joining it will no doubt continue to bolster BC’s already impressive class rankings.
McClary’s highlights video is a bit dated, but it does show a respectable wide receiver with agility, which is why a number of other BCS programs offered him:
Welcome to the Heights to you, too.
