It’s always good news at Boston College when a former Eagle makes good, and Tony Sanchez made his dreams a reality on Sunday.
The former star catcher for Boston College baseball during the editor-in-chief’s days on the Heights finally earned his Major League callup and debut on Sunday against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
Playing designated hitter in the American League park, Sanchez went 1-for-3, recording his first Major League hit on his first day on the job in his first at-bat. Of course, it was a memorable one:
Congratulations, Tony. We all hope they get your first hit down from the wall for your collection.
