Former Boston College Eagle Montel Harris Officially Temple-Bound
By Joe Micik
In news that should come as a surprise to nobody who has followed the situation, Montel Harris is on his way to Temple.
The announcement perhaps took longer than expected, but the news itself is not surprising. In joining Steve Addazio’s team, Harris will reunite with Ryan Day and Kevin Rogers, both of whom were offensive coaches at Boston College during his time there.
Harris was dismissed from the team in the spring for a “repeated violation of team rules” which remains undisclosed to this day. Due to his graduation from Boston College in May, Harris is not technically transferring, therefore he is eligible to — and apparently will — play this season.
Temple, most recently a member of the MAC, is on its way back to the Big East in 2012 and subsequent seasons.
If he remains healthy, I can envision a big year from Harris, who has a lot to prove after recent seasons of injuries and probably some general frustration with regards to how his time at BC ended. We wish him and the Owls all the best in the year ahead.
