Joe Martinez
Left BC: 2005
Current assignment: Reno Aces (Class AAA, Arizona Diamondbacks)

Martinez played for the Columbus Clippers, Cleveland Indians AAA affiliate in 2011, but in 2012, he is a member of the Diamondbacks organization and playing for their Triple-A squad, the Reno Aces. In three starts, Martinez is 0-1 with a 4.42 ERA. The details are less appetizing, as he has allowed 23 hits in 18.1 IP with the league hitting .311 off of him.

Shawn McGill
Left BC: 2006
Current assignment: Gwinnett Braves (Class AAA, Atlanta Braves)

McGill has finally found his way to Triple-A in the Braves organization, but he has yet to appear in a game in 2012 due to injury. He has been on the 7-day DL since prior to April 5 and there is no indication as to when he will return.

Last year, McGill spent part of the year in Gwinnett, hitting .250 in six games.

Matt Meyer
Left BC: 2006
Current assignment: Salt Lake Bees (Class AAA, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim)

Meyer is yet another former Eagle currently residing in Triple-A, playing for the Salt Lake Bees. In 2011, he pitched 14 games out of the bullpen and had a solid 2.30 ERA. In 2012, he has appeared in seven games and owns a 6.00 ERA. All four earned runs he has allowed came in two of those appearances, which are typically an inning or less. (As a lefty, one would then assume that Salt Lake’s manager is using him as a lefty matchup guy, which is working well as southpaws hit just .167 against him).

Kevin Moran
Left BC: 2010
Current assignment: Extended spring training

Moran’s last-known assignment was in Kannapolis, NC, playing for the Intimidators, Single-A affiliate of the White Sox. Minor League Baseball insists he is still active, but he does not appear on the roster. This is because he was assigned to extended spring training and has yet to appear for Kannapolis (if he is reassigned there at all).

Ryne Reynoso is still on BC’s list, but as he has been officially out of baseball for two years now, I will only make brief mention of it here.

Tony Sanchez
Left BC: 2009
Current assignment: Altoona Curve (Class AA, Pittsburgh Pirates)

This former Boston College catcher is starting his second full season in Double-A ball for Altoona, and so far, his 2012 is looking better than 2011. In 11 games, Sanchez is hitting .282 with 5 RBI. Last season, he hit just .241 with a mid-.600s OPS. Sanchez is doing particularly well off of righties this year, hitting .300.
