4. Sailing wins national championship
Boston College sailing appears to be to their sport what the hockey team is to theirs: elite.
On June 1, coed sailing cruised (no pun intended) to a national championship out in Oregon, beating second-place Hobart by 27.
Annie Haeger led this team and won multiple titles and awards in her time at BC. You may see her again, as her apparent goal is to make the 2016 Summer Olympics in Brazil.
Alright, alright, alright, I know what you’re saying: it was such a bad year for BC that a sport that’s about as non-revenue as it gets makes this list at #4. Point taken, but it’s a BC team and it won a championship. In a year where so many Eagles teams didn’t get results, this one did, and they should be commended for it.
