Boston College and Conte Forum: In Pictures

First, though the basketball loss to Penn State was disappointing and frustrating, I enjoyed having gone, and I want to again thank WZBC Sports for my halftime interview and send regards to the BC bloggers who I met on press row.

As many of you know, going to and from Boston is not easy for me to accomplish. On an exceptionally good day, it takes me three hours to get to the hotel where I typically stay (and I’m almost certain they’ve put me up in the exact same room each time), and then add on another 40-60 minutes in getting to the T station, waiting for the next one, getting on, and walking or taking the Comm Ave bus to campus. If I were driving, and I’ve learned to do that sparingly at BC and in the Boston area in general, I might save time getting there, but not leaving with the big rush to the exits. It’s a long journey.

The point I’m building to is that it’s hard writing substantive, timely, researched articles immediately after a roadtrip when you’ve got other stuff to catch up on, so today I’m completely copping out and sharing some pictures I took last night at Boston College.

I’ve been around the Boston College scene for close to eight years now, and Gasson has never looked as good as it does now. Crews were working on its restoration when I was still a student there, and now that it’s completed, I have to say, they did a tremendous job. The building looks great completely lit up.

It’s almost ten minutes before the game starts and the fans aren’t in their seats yet; I seem to remember that being a point of contention for someone somewhere…

Finally, without my prior knowledge, Boston College had its tree-lighting ceremony on Wednesday night. As I got closer to O’Neill Plaza, I heard singing and saw a big crowd, and having witnessed it before, I instantly knew what was going on.

The picture is grainy, but it’s a big tree.
