Running back

Rolandan Finch, sophomore: 157 car, 705 yd, 3 TD
Andre Williams, sophomore: 124 car, 517 yd, 4 TD

Rolandan Finch and Andre Williams did most of the work this year pounding the run in the absence of Montel Harris. Both ball carriers had their moments, as did others like Tahj Kimble and QB Josh Bordner, but like last year, the run game was relatively unproductive, at least compared to other BCS-conference programs.

It did have one big game in particular — the 372-yard game against Maryland (a team which makes us look like Alabama by comparison).

I will maintain that Montel Harris not being here this season was not the reason why BC was so bad. He was the ACC’s leading rusher last year, and BC was still 109th in yardage and points. This year, 113th and 112th, respectively. With the overall offense being what it was, Montel being here isn’t the difference between BC being 113th and being 50th — it’s more like the difference between BC being 113th and 105th. Harris makes the offense better by being on it, but seeing as BC was a terrible offensive team in 2010 WITH him, it’s hard to believe 2011 would have been markedly different if he were here.
