Boston College at Miami: Inspiration
By Joe Micik
In lieu of an article breaking down offenses and defenses, Boston College fans could use a smile. I present to you the last, and only, time BC has beaten Miami on the road:
The past has not been kind to the Eagles when they face the Miami Hurricanes, whether in Boston or in Miami-Dade County. Fate has, however, been even more cruel to Boston College when they traveled down to the late Orange Bowl. This year, they will face the Hurricanes in Joe Robbie/Pro Player/Dolphins/Sun Life/Land Shark/Chevy Chase as Land Shark Stadium, but will Boston College’s poor history against Miami will follow them there?
All-time, Boston College is 1-14 as the road team while playing the Hurricanes. Doug Flutie was the only BC quarterback to beat them on their field; Chase Rettig will try to become the second.
For many of you, this video may be nostalgic. For me, it is an important piece of Boston College football history, but it does not invoke fond memories. After all, this happened roughly 15 months before I was born.
On a final note, this play took place on November 23, 1984, twenty-seven years ago tomorrow.
