What we thought about this game in the offseason

The Seminoles are one of the highest-ranked teams in the country, and will probably be well on their way to a BCS bid by this game. The Eagles might be able to hang with them for a while, but FSU is just too good and will power their way past, despite all of the energy in the stadium from it being a Thursday night primetime game.

What we think about it now

Florida State was way, way overrated; they almost certainly won’t even win the ACC Atlantic now and are shooting for something on par with the Bugaboo Creek Moosebreath Burger Bowl (if it existed) if they can regroup. Furthermore, their two wins so far were over nobodies (Louisiana-Monroe and Charleston Southern). Boston College, on the other hand, is terrible, and has only a win over UMass to its credit.

In spite of FSU’s 2-3 record, all indications are that they are still better than us. The Seminoles are 5th in the ACC in offense and first in defense. They also have the most productive passing offense in the conference behind EJ Manuel, who has 8 TD and 6 INT.

Boston College win probability

Low. The Seminoles may be on the verge of packing it in, and a better team with a better coach could probably catch Florida State sleeping in this national TV game, but that probably is not BC.
