Boston College at Clemson: 5 Big Questions
By Joe Micik
2.) Will Montel Harris’s absence signal a shift in BC’s hopes?
No, because to be completely honest, it was highly unlikely BC would win anyway.
I’ve been ripping on the offensive line for the last two questions, and now, it will be three. Montel Harris and Andre Williams are fine players, and before the injury issues started coming into focus, I’d say Montel was well on his way to the NFL (who knows what will become of him after this season now). Andre Williams, for his part, is also more than capable of running the ball. The problem is, you can’t gain too many yards on the ground when you’re not getting blocking, and BC definitely is not.
To date, Boston College has four rushing touchdowns on the season. Florida State actually has one fewer with three, but they make up for it with their 13 passing TDs (BC: 5). The bottom line is that if the offensive line looks bad, it doesn’t really matter who you have running the ball, because they’re not going anywhere, anyway. With all due respect to Montel, who we all completely respect and think is one of the best talents we’ve had here at BC, we probably won’t even notice he’s gone, and honestly, it’ll be the least of our problems.
