The top five worst BC sports moments of 2010-2011

#3: March 11, 2011: Men’s basketball loses to Clemson in ACC Tournament
Sure, the Eagles had just won consecutive games against ACC bottom-feeder Wake Forest, but they were riding a wave of confidence and had their NCAA Tournament berth in their hands. Clemson was an alright team, but certainly not outside the realm of being beatable.
Boston College did not get the memo, however: the Eagles lost 70-47 and were down 11-0 five minutes into the game.
The shockwave from this fantastic implosion knocked BC clear off the bubble and into the NIT (where they had other problems of their own).
BC basketball had taken some bad losses over the course of the season, but this was a very deflating way to see their tournament chances end. It wasn’t as bad as the 2008 ACC Tournament when BC lost to Clemson by 1.2 million points (approximately), but this was still a very bad way to check out.
