The top five worst BC sports moments of 2010-2011

#4: January 5, 2011: Men’s basketball loses third-straight home game to Harvard
In 2009, we thought they couldn’t lose to Harvard, because we’re up here and they’re down there.
At the tail end of that year, we thought they couldn’t possibly lose to Harvard again.
In 2011, we thought it impossible to lose three straight games to one particular Ivy League school.
Boston College basketball found a way, however. While Harvard wasn’t the stereotypical terrible Ivy in 2010-2011 (far from it, in fact), this remained a serious embarrassment to the program (especially in light of having also lost to Yale). It’s ironic that Steve Donahue, an Ivy League coach who had won three straight titles before going to BC, couldn’t win either game against his old conference with a presumably “better” team. Not that it’s necessarily his fault, mind you.
