Yesterday, we did the best, so now, it’s time for the worst. These were the moments during this most recent Boston College season which brought us the most sadness, disgust, anger, disillusionment, or any combination therein. Some seasons, we have a lot to pick from, and while this year on the whole wasn’t entirely bad, I had options while compiling this list.

Again, it is not an exact science, and if you disagree with the order of the list (or the contents of it), feel free to make your dissent public.

Let’s go:

#5: October 9, 2010: Football loses to NC State

Some had said that the games against North Carolina State were the ones Frank Spaziani really wanted to win. I have no hard evidence of that except the rumblings from previous years that playing his old boss, Tom O’Brien, led him to look forward to this particular game. In 2009, it worked as the Eagles beat the living crap out of the Wolfpack at home. In 2010, however, the Hen clucked his way to his first win against his old school.

In fact, it wasn’t even close.

Boston College got creamed, 44-17, and the Eagles’ normally-stout defense folded like a cheap tent. Without Chase Rettig (injury) at quarterback, the results at his position were also predictably lacking.
