The top five BC sports moments of 2010-2011

#3: March 12, 2011: Women’s hockey advances to Frozen Four
If you had told me that only one of BC’s two hockey teams would make it to the Frozen Four, I’d say that would be a tough call. The men’s team were defending national champions and had every intention of repeating, while the women were certainly much improved but were still slightly more in doubt than the men who had been there recently and often.
It was, however, the women who made the Frozen Four in 2011, beating Minnesota to advance to the national semifinals. It was only the second time in program history that this had happened, and though the Eagles eventually lost a heartbreaking game to Wisconsin, they had a great season which is worthy of Superfan praise. Making the Frozen Four capped off a year where they tied a single-season record in wins and won their first-ever Hockey East tournament.
