Herzlich’s draft day footage, plus Jerry York in NYC

I don’t have to go into any great detail with my readers about the Mark Herzlich situation from the NFL Draft in late April. The NFL Films series (sponsored by Gatorade) Everything to Prove followed Mark during that weekend and gives you his own perspective on how things unfolded. The exact text of what was relayed to me about this episode is that “Mark is featured nervously awaiting a draft-day call with his family and friends. It’s a personal look at the disappointment Mark experiences and how his family rallies around him during this trying time, providing poignant insight into the ups and downs of being an NFL rookie.”

Watching the video brings back some of the disappointment of that Saturday evening, and shows you his and his family’s moods at the time. What you will also see, however, is his forward-thinking attitude. To directly quote Herzlich after not being drafted, “I’ve gotten worse news before.”

Give it a view.

Speaking of things that were e-mailed to me, today I got an invitation from the BC Alumni Association to “An Evening with Jerry York,” being held (appropriately, given its name) at The Muse Hotel in Manhattan. It will be on Wednesday, June 8th from 6 to 9pm. To register for this event, go to BC Alumni’s online community. I, for one, am very tempted.
