BC baseball loses to St. John’s: A haiku recap
By Joe Micik
I figured that simply writing an article telling you about BC baseball losing to St. John’s yesterday would be pretty boring. For one thing, it’s not an area of interest for many BC fans, and next, our team does tend to lose a lot. Now, I can tell you all about this team falling short but doing it in a new, entertaining way.
The BC Eagles
Went down to Union Turnpike
To play the Johnnies
The Eagles scored two
But then St. John’s scored three more
Down one in the fourth
In the fifth inning
Brad Zapenas got a hit
The game was tied up
And so it would stay
Zeros across through the ninth
To extras we go
The Eagles struck first
Spenser Payne hit a dinger
Four to three, BC
In the bottom half
The first two Johnnies were walked
Winning run on board
BC made errors
The bases were loaded up
It was big trouble
Pitcher gets ground ball
It ended up in center
Eagles lose by one
Sucky way to lose
Ten games under .500
This team’s not that good
Nothing to see here
Still four months until football
Eagles fans must wait
