Call to action: 2nd Annual Andrew C. Marsh Memorial Golf Tournament

facebooktwitterreddit

As Boston College bloggers, Twitter folk, and all other readers know, last year, Soaring to Glory was very supportive of the First Annual Andrew C. Marsh Memorial Golf Tournament. It was an event in honor of a friend of BCI’s Brian and Jeff who lost his battle with cancer.

This year, BCI has happily announced that there will be a second tournament in 2011, and we will support it all the same. I have heard that the 2010 event was a success, so I turn to you all, out in the land of the interwebs, in hopes that you’ll help make it a bigger success this year.

With any luck, this golf tournament will persist for many years to come and become an annual bonding moment for Boston College fans. Not to mention, Old Orchard Beach is a great town that I plan to visit at least once this summer. So long as planning for my older brother’s wedding late this summer doesn’t get in the way, I will make an attempt to go (and I can’t golf to save my life, despite the fact that I try to get out to the links a few times a year). If I get out there on the course (and probably shoot a 144), the rest of you have no excuses.

Of course, if that is simply not feasible, the information for sending a charitable donation is slightly different from last year:

The Andrew C. Marsh Memorial Fund
21 Stevens Ave
Portland, ME 04102

You may also make a PayPal donation at this link. Proceeds will benefit scholarships in Marsh’s name not only at his alma mater of Boston College, but also Cheverus High School and the Roger Williams School of Law.

The event will be held at the same place, Dunegrass Country Club:

August 4-5, 2011
Dunegrass Country Club
200 Wild Dunes Way, Old Orchard Beach, ME

I believe I can safely say that the BCI guys, the Marsh family, and all of their friends would certainly be appreciative if you could lend your support in whatever way your means allow.
