BC women double our Beanpot fun

I’d like to briefly give some props tonight to the women’s hockey team: matching the mens’ accomplishment last night, Boston College women’s hockey defeated Harvard 3-1 to win the 2011 Beanpot. It is the fourth time the ladies have won this tournament since its inception in 1979. They raise their record to 20-6-5 with the victory.

Eagle goals were scored by Kelli Stack, Caitlin Walsh, and Mary Restuccia. Stack’s Olympic teammate, BC goalie Molly Schaus, stopped 31 of 32 Harvard shots which came her way.

Boston College has left no doubt as to which school has the best college hockey in the area. Good job to both the men and women, but there’s still much work to be done for each team, and much hardware to earn.
