We called the Calipari matter yesterday

As did most of the blogosphere but apparently the media wasn’t quite ready to call the race despite all the precincts reporting.

In any case, Calipari will coach the Wildcats of Kentucky and make a friggin boatload of cash doing it. Depending on how many people he takes with him, Memphis might just be gutted. Do they become just another CUSA team now? Only time will tell.

Meanwhile, the SEC now has a potential contender next year. I mean, there was no way to go BUT up in that conference, but with Calipari going there, Anthony Grant moving to Alabama, and possibly Mike Anderson to Georgia, the SEC is looking better already. [late edit: Anderson will stay at Mizzou…Georgia will have to look elsewhere]
