Well, at least most of your team will be back

The US was eliminated in the World Baseball Classic semifinals tonight against Japan, who will now fight to defend their 2006 title. At this pace, the US will win a WBC in 2015. Whoopee.
America may never really succeed in this event, because many of the top players are not being allowed to participate by their Major League clubs. It’s not just America’s problem, though: players from a number of countries have been held out or choose not to play. This is a large part of the reason why baseball was pulled from the proverbial Olympic menu, although this one had a lot more stars participating. Major League Baseball success is our main focus here; for some countries in the mix, the WBC was their chief focus.
And we STILL have 2 weeks until Opening Day.
