…but some kept hope alive for Cincinnati and Georgetown today.
Well, Georgetown got bumped by St. John’s and Cincinnati fell flat on their faces against the worst team in the Big East, DePaul. In terms of RPI, there are only two worse major conference teams (Indiana and Colorado) than the Blue Demons, and Cincy gagged it up bigtime against them. I don’t even think they’re a lock for the NIT anymore.
As for Georgetown, I pronounced them dead for an at-large several weeks ago, but some needed to see it to believe it. Now their fate is totally sealed. Tonight, if Rutgers wants to make it 3-for-3 in upsets, they can dump another not-really bubble team in Notre Dame.
