Charges dropped against Sean Williams
By Joe Micik

NJ Net and former BC Eagle Sean Williams today had the charges against him dropped by Boston authorities. He was kicked off the BC basketball team in 2007, along with Akida McLain, after one violation of team rules too many.
Sometime between 2 years ago and last month, BCPD (the Boston College Police Department) had issued a restraining order which banned him from being on the BC campus. I have no idea what the rationale behind the order was, but it did exist. Long story short, coach Al Skinner had invited Williams to the Duke/BC game in February without knowing that this ban was in place. Williams came and got arrested. I assume that Williams himself knew he was banned, in which case he should have declined the invitation. In any case, I’m glad the matter has been dropped as it seems like more of a misunderstanding than anything else, but damn he’s gotta stay out of trouble.
