The late games and conference tourneys…

* The definition of a letdown: #9 Kansas beats the crap out of #12 Missouri, then gets the crap beaten out of them by the Big 12’s second-to-worst team, Texas Tech.

* The definition of a bounce-back: #12 Missouri gets the crap beaten out of them by #9 Kansas, then proceeds to beat #5 Oklahoma.

* Memphis has now won 57 games in a row in Conference USA. Regardless of what you think of them or their conference, that’s still impressive.

* UNLV, BYU and SDSU have won; all are doing what they need to do to get in/stay in the discussion.

* #11 LSU took one on the chin against Vandy — it’s probably not going to make much of a difference, LSU is safe.

* Minnesota had to beat Wisconsin and they did it; ditto Texas A&M; vs. Colorado. Minnesota beating Wisconsin is a decent resume win to stay in the tournament picture; the Aggies’ game (where they had to come from behind) was one of those nothing-to-gain, everything-to-lose type games but they pulled it off.

* UAB is definitely not a tournament team. Early in the season, I thought they could have been, and as recently as last week they had a real chance to make their case, but their last two games have put that to bed.

* No upset in the A-Sun tournament (only one game was played today and the 2 beat the 7). All top seeds but one move on in the Patriot League (#6 Colgate beat #3 Navy). Other than the 9 beating the 8, the top seeds all advance in the Sun Belt.
