The National Hockey League will not draft its next batch of rising stars until the summer, but Noah Hanifin is a name still coming up in our 2015 NHL mock draft.

This information, pulled from the mock drafts all over the vast expanses of the interwebs, shows that Boston College freshman defenseman remains in good shape to get chosen near the top of the heap.

Of course, for a program that always draws in fine talent, Hanifin’s name is not the only one on the list of potential Boston College draftees. Who else is showing up in the mock drafts, and how high might they go?

Two of the names above are incoming commitments who hopefully decline from pulling a Sonny Milano and actually show up, but Noah Hanifin is here and he is making an impact. Having talented young forwards like White and Bracco on their way might make for some exciting times for the Eagles in the future.

All along, Noah Hanifin has been projected as a top pick. Players like Connor McDavid and Jack Eichel absorb all the media attention, but Hanifin has consistently been there in the top three or four of players available in the 2015 NHL draft; this is not likely to change over the next five months, save for something catastrophic taking place.

In 20 games so far this season, Hanifin has ten points (2-8-10) and a plus-7 rating. He missed one game a week ago as he played with the United States in the 2015 World Juniors.
