Game 7: Boston College-Providence Basketball Gameday

Boston College has a chance to show something in the way of progress to their home fans on Providence basketball gameday.

More from Basketball

The Eagles won their last game against Marist and have gotten back to the .500 mark, but Providence, the Big East champions in 2014, are going to be a much tougher team to beat.

Granted, the Friars no longer have Bryce Cotton, but at 6-1, they must be doing something right. Ed Cooley’s men are also 2-0 against the ACC so far this season, having beaten the stuffing out of Florida State and then winning a nailbiter over Notre Dame at Mohegan Sun.

Boston College is 2-0 at home this season, which is not saying a whole lot considering their wins are New Hampshire and Marist. Taking down the Friars will be a much more impressive accomplishment, and the Vegas bookies think it is as least possible: as of Thursday night, Providence were only 4.5-point favorites on the Eagles’ home court.

Fans are going to be asked to participate in a “white out” — considering Providence’s colors include white, it might not have the same impact, but at least everyone in Conte Forum will be wearing the same color.
