Dayton basketball gameday for the Boston College Eagles presents an opportunity to get out of Puerto Rico with a second win there.

More from Basketball

The Eagles face the Dayton Flyers in the third-place game of the 2014 Puerto Rico Tip-Off, after both teams went down to defeat on Friday in their respective semifinal matchups.

Boston College got a win in Puerto Rico already, having upset the New Mexico Lobos on Thursday night, but a second win would be a nice touch for a program coming off of one of its worst seasons ever.

The Eagles have a star in junior guard Olivier Hanlan, who has shown so far how good he can be, and also cause stressful thoughts of fans: if he was not here, there is no telling where Boston College basketball would be right now.

Under the new coaching regime of Jim Christian, given only four games of analysis, the Eagles have been more attentive to defense than under Steve Donahue, though when they are defended, they continue to struggle with the press and turnovers are an issue.

Dayton was an Elite Eight team last year, and they are not to be taken lightly.
