Senior defensive back Manny Asprilla broke up this pass early in the game, looking for a split second like he might have had a chance at a pick.

This season, Boston College will rely on the skills of players like Asprilla if their pass defense is going to improve.

Meanwhile, Josh Bordner appears to have successfully made the transition from Boston College backup quarterback to Boston College starting wide receiver. He led all Eagles receivers with 81 yards, including a 43-yard reception, and recorded the only touchdown caught for Boston College on Saturday.

The Eagles’ receiving corps has been depleted, but they will take all the help they can get, and if Bordner continues to contribute, he will keep getting the ball thrown to him.
