Boston College Basketball

Auburn basketball scores with commitment from Antoine Mason, nation’s top returning scorer (ABC 33/40, Stu McCann)

Niagara’s Antoine Mason will head to Auburn to play for Bruce Pearl in his senior season. He turned down an offer from Boston College to go play for a Boston College alum.

Mason also turned down Ed Cooley’s Providence Friars.

Nobody on our end deserves blame for this one; if anything, it speaks to how well Pearl is recruiting without even being able to recruit yet (officially, anyway). Not that some things haven’t gone in Jim Christian’s favor since his hire, but this news barely registers as there’s still a heavy, low cloud of despair sitting over this program and bad news is the expectation, not the exception.

Boston College Hockey

Sonny Milano Top 30 NHL Draft Prospect (Frozen Futures, Caitlin Campbell)

Meet Sonny Milano, a really good hockey player and (clearly) a Boston College commit.

David Gregory of NHL Central Scouting, not related to the host of Meet the Press, had this to say of Boston College’s newcomer:

"“He’s so dynamic, very good with the puck in traffic and in open ice and can make defensemen look silly. … He certainly has the potential of becoming a complete player."

We would expect nothing less.
