Cincinnati/St. Xavier athlete Ben Glines became the eighth Boston College football commitment for the 2015 class on Saturday.

News of his commitment to Steve Addazio and company leaked out on Twitter on Saturday afternoon. His joining this class made him the first Ohio recruit for 2015, from a high school which has recently generated tremendous talent for the Eagles, most notably current NFL standout Luke Kuechly. Ben Glines is the third recruit to commit to Boston College this month.

Coach Al Washington was the primary contact on the Glines recruitment.

Sporting other offers from Toledo, Akron, and Western Michigan, Ben Glines received his offer from Boston College back on November 22 of last season. Reportedly, Gilnes also attended junior day for the Eagles in February and named Boston College as one of his top choices last month.

Despite being offered as an athlete, Ben Glines has been listed as playing running back, defensive back, and/or wide receiver at St. Xavier.

On his Hudl page, Glines is listed as having run a 4.48 40.

A highlights video of him from several seasons ago shows him playing multiple positions on the field and appearing to play well as such.

Videos on his Hudl page from more recent times also show a versatile player who could be a help to Boston College on either side of the football.

We welcome Ben Glines to the Heights.
