While #1 Boston College men’s hockey celebrates its fifth-straight Beanpot trophy, the #7 Eagles women’s hockey team will look to polish off a Beanpot sweep for the Heights.

Just like the men did on Monday night, the women will face the Northeastern Huskies for a chance to win their fifth title all-time. This matchup will take place at Kelley Rink at 8pm.

In recent times, the two teams have only matched their tournament victories once: 2011. In last year’s meeting, the ladies fell to Northeastern, 4-3, in the title game. Before that, Boston College’s other most recent victory in the Women’s Beanpot was 2009, the men’s team’s only down year in the past decade.

This 2014 women’s team has been short Alex Carpenter, who is currently in Sochi representing the United States, but they still have plenty of tools to succeed. One of their stars is Haley Skarupa, leading the team with 18 goals. Meanwhile, senior goalie Corinne Boyles has been a steadying force for her team, posting a very solid .940 save percentage this year.

The Eagles are coming off of a weekend defeat against UConn, but were undefeated over their prior eleven games. In official Hockey East meetings, Boston College went 2-0-1 against the Huskies this season.
