If you’re making the trip on behalf of Boston College for the 2013 AdvoCare V100 Bowl, even if you’re taking an RV, one would think you’d choose not to sleep there. You could, but Shreveport does have hotels, you know.

In the event you do want to go and are still synthesizing plans, you will have to act quickly for reasons which will become clear in a moment.

According to TripAdvisor.com, here are some of the best-rated hotels in the city which are listed as being currently available from December 30 to January 1:

Sleep Inn & Suites Shreveport
$82.49 per night

Believe it or not, this chain hotel was rated second-best in Shreveport with nearly-perfect reviews from TripAdvisor users. Rooms come with mini-fridges and there’s an indoor pool and spa. That sounds like a nice getaway from the frozen tundra that is Massachusetts.

This is listed as a two-star hotel, but would appear to be a bang-for-your-buck value option for those looking to save after piling on travel costs.

It’s a little bit outside the city, but an 8-minute drive to the stadium. You could do way worse.

Homewood Suites Shreveport
$129 per night

Here’s a hotel with a 90-percent favorability rating from travelers. Yet remember, as with all of these hotels, unless you plan to make a lengthy winter vacation out of this bowl trip, you’d probably only be toughing out a night or two anywhere you stay. Think of it like a business trip, plus football.

This one is near a bunch of other hotels, including the aforementioned Sleep Inn and others, because it’s very close to the airport. It offers a pool and kitchenette, and is also eight minutes from the stadium.

Other airport options include the Hampton Inn Shreveport Airport (ranked 5th) and Hilton Garden Inn Shreveport (11th).

If you were looking to stay downtown, perhaps in a casino, this is the situation for the nights of December 30 and December 31, and it’s definitely not favorable to those who haven’t booked:

Margaritaville Resort (Bossier City): Only one room remained as of Sunday.

Sam’s Town Hotel & Casino: Nothing available either night.

Eldorado: Nothing available either night.

DiamondJacks (Bossier City): Hotel not accepting check-ins on December 30; rooms for about a thousand bucks a night (not kidding) around New Year’s Eve.

Basically, if you plan to go to Shreveport, you’re going to be staying near the airport, which is fine because it’s not far from the stadium. Availability does appear to be dwindling, so finalize your plans as soon as possible.
