Florida State Seminoles quarterback Jameis Winston has won the 2013 Heisman Trophy, while Boston College Eagles senior running back Andre Williams has finished in fourth place.
Williams became the first Eagle invited to New York in decades last week in the midst of a 2,102-yard season that is not yet over.
According to the official results, Winston, Alabama’s AJ McCarron, and Northern Illinois’s Jordan Lynch finished ahead of Williams. Last year’s winner, Johnny Manziel, and Auburn’s Tre Mason were fifth and sixth, respectively.
Regardless of the final outcome, this was still a special night for Boston College football and Williams himself, who is a fine representative of our university. He should be as proud of his achievements as we are.
Williams, the winner of the 2013 Doak Walker Award on Thursday, will play his final collegiate game on New Year’s Eve against the Arizona Wildcats in the AdvoCare V100 Bowl.
