Boston College’s 2014 football recruiting class keeps growing, almost by the day. In fact, on this particular day, it grew by two (with a realistic chance at another one tomorrow). The first of two Monday commitments was outside linebacker Ty Schwab. It was reported by Heights 247.

Schwab, the eighteenth recruit in this class, comes from Merritt Island, Florida. Coming in at 6-foot-2 and 220 pounds, this linebacker camped with Boston College football last week and was offered yesterday. Defensive coordinator Don Brown was Schwab’s primary recruiter. He held competing offers from Massachusetts, Tulane, Western Michigan, and UTEP.

A three-star recruit according to the 247 composite rating, and two stars according to Rivals, Schwab has also been indicated as playing fullback during his time in high school, versatility which increases his usefulness to the team.

Schwab’s recruitment webpage lists his 40-time as 4.6 seconds and his vertical leap at 32.5 inches. For those also looking to see video of his play, that can be arranged.

He appears to be a legitimate football player with real skill, and an athlete as shown by his multiple sports played. Welcome to the Heights.
